I recently upgraded DSL Max, its advertised as 20 Mbps but I only get 6 - 7 Mbps max. Called Stc and guess what they said "Up to 20 Mbps" not exactly 20 Mbps.

Jaypee did you changed your DSL cable to CAT-5 beforce you upgraded to 20mbps?
I'm using Cat-6, I dont think its not affecting the DSL because in the modem's diagnostics the max DL rate is only 7000+ kbps instead of 20000 kbps.
then we must say our lines are crappy, and second if we've good line and well maintained dp, then stc serivce really sucks.
jaypee do u kno any1 else ? who upgraded to 20mbps .. i m usin 4 mbps ... and i m gettin 3.7mbps almost avg all tim .. its good ..
dear all, i got confused with STC advertisement. they said just pay 300SR for installation fee, free 2months subscription. but what???my 1st bill more than 300SR. it is 647SR. how come?????what should I do? when i complaint to customer service, he said: nothing free in this world. how funny....STC is big liar

exactly 6.5+ - 7 mbps ..
in my modem i can see the line speed wht stc is providin ..

so no way it will excede 8 mbps coz line speed is jst 8 ..
its lik 8 mbps connection
if they say up to 20 they should at lest provide line speed of 20 mbps ..
its waste takin DSL MAX ..

i will switch back to 4 mbps ..
so any1 there ho is gettin more than 8 mbps in DSL MAX ?
and its not problem of router coz its ADSL2+ whih supports up to 25 mbps ...
